The Spanish TV presenter Paula Vázquez has been chosen by the national broadcaster Televisión Española (TVE) to host the national final that has to elect the Spanish song and entrant for next Eurovision Song Contest, to be held in Helsinki on May.
All the details about the procedure to be followed by TVE will be announced tomorrow at 12 CET by the public broadcaster in Madrid. We already know that the Galician model and TV presenter Paula Vázquez (Ferrol, 1975) is the chosen person by TVE to host the preselection galas and the programme to be aired just before ESC 2007. She will be accompanied by Massiel (Eurovision 1968 winner with La, la, la) and Mikel Herzog (Spanish representative in 1998 with ¿Qué voy a hacer sin ti?), who will act as advisors. Paula takes over now from Carlos Lozano, who has hosted all the Eurovision programmes on TVE since 2002.
According to reports, eight big galas and subsequent debates are meant to be broadcasted on TVE-1 and a daily microspace on TVE-2. The galas will start on January and end on March, two months before Eurovision Song Contest.
