Gigliola Cinquetti, the ultimate Italian diva, will perform in Colombia for the very first time on 8 August along with the Chilean singer Sergio Fachelli.   

Cinquetti will perform for the very first time in the Colombian capital, Bogota, at the Jorge Eliecer Gaitán Theatre  where is expected to sing most of her hits in Spanish, French and, of course, in Italian. The show is called Las Puertas del Cielo (Heaven’s Doors) and will share the stage with the Chilean balladeer Sergio Fachelli.

The veteran singer, named the San Remo Diva, has taken part in the Italian Festival 12 times and has won the whole contest twice: in 1964 with her Eurovision entry and in 1966 with Dio, come ti amo in a duet with Domenico Modugno.

Gigliola Cinquetti won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1964 with the ballad Non ho l’étà. She represented Italia for the second time, ten years later, with Si and finished second only behind the eventual winners, ABBA. Gigliola also hosted the 36^th Eurovision Song Contest in in Rome in 1991.
