With the new Junioreurovision.tv site due to be launched today, Sietse Bakker, the creator of esctoday who is now working directly for EBU as Project Manager (Internet) of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, spoke to us about pretty much everything concerning his new role.

Sietse Bakker is of course well known to the readers of esctoday.com as the founder and creator of the leading independent Eurovision Song Contest website back in 2000, and the Chief Editor until 2006. He finally left the team that he created to accept the position of Project Manager (Internet) at the EBU with the responsibility of overhaulling the eurovision.tv and junioreurovision.tv official websites.

Would Sietse try to replicate esctoday.com from an official perspective or would he create something completely different? Find out what Sietse is doing for junioreurovision.tv – due to go live later today. Does Sietse miss his role at esctoday.com? Find out how he managed the transition from working for an independent site to the official site, what achievements have been made in his first months at the EBU and what new features you can expect from the new junioreurovision.tv site.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain. I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
