The TMF Awards were handed out in Flanders today. Many Belgian Eurosong artists appeared on stage many were nominated for awards. Kate Ryan, who won the 2006 Eurosong and went on to represent Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens was strongly tipped with three nominations. In the end, however, only Katerine (Eurosong 2002 & 2006) walked away from the event holding a prize.She won awards in the categories of Best Pop and Best Female National. Eurosong 2006 finalist Kaye Styles brought a mix of his biggest hits so far and was joined by three time Eurovision Song Contest winner, Johnny Logan, for the Eurovision remakes Don't cry/Hold me now and I love to party/What's another year, a double single which will be released in several European countries next week. Kaye Styles was nominated in the categories Best Male and Best Urban, in which the awards went to Zornik's singer Koen Buyse and Hadise respectively.

There were no nominations for Laura, but still the Idols and Eurosong 2006 participants was present in the Sports Palace of Antwerp. Laura performed her new single Reason and her summer hit Shattered. Just like Laura, Katerine didn't succeed in reaching the final of Eurosong 2006, but nevertheless the Star Academy winner became one of the most successful artists at this year's edition of the TMF Awards. Katerine won in the categories Best Pop and Best Female National and gave the best of herself when performing her latest hit single Catfight.
Kate Ryan was nominated for three TMF Awards, but went home without a prize. Kate was defeated by Katerine twice and also in the category Best Video National, she wasn't successful. On the stage in Antwerp, Kate Ryan performed the two hit songs she already scored this year: Je t'adore and Alive.
Other Eurosong artists who were nominated for one or more TMF Awards left with empty hands too: Clouseau (ESC 1991), Belle Perez (Eurosong 1999 & 2006), Natalia (Eurosong 2004) and Brahim (Eurosong 2006).
