Farid Mammadov the 2013 Azerbaijani Eurovision representative was given a hero’s welcome when he returned to Baku after his Eurovision experience in Sweden and achieving an honourable 2nd placing at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Farid Mammadov  visited  the Haydar Aliyev monument which is in front of the Haydar Aliyev Palace in Baku. He paid  tribute to  the memory of the Azerbaijani  national leader and laid flowers at the monument.

After the visit Farid Mammadov answered questions of the journalists. The singer highly appreciated the care and attention he got from the Azerbaijani government before and after the contest.

Farid gave Azerbaijan its 2nd best placing at the Eurovision Song Contest 2 weeks back with his song Hold me, composed by Greek composer Dimitris Kontopoulos, whilst the staging was directed by none other than Fokas Evangelinos.

Speaking about his future plans and projects, he said he would release new songs in the coming days.
