Montenegro's participation at the forthcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest still hangs in the balance, according to reports on eurosong.be.

Steering Group Chairman Steve De Coninck-De Boeck, speaking to the site, confirmed that the deadline for submission had been extended for Montenegro, in light of the political circumstances surrounding the split from Serbia. "The Junior Steering Group has given an exeption to the national broadcaster to enter this year's Junior ESC after the deadline, but we still haven't received a formal request for participation" said Steve.

The deadline to enter the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2006 passed some months ago already, but Steve added "At this moment the case is on hold." For now, the Steering Group consider the application as uncertain, rather than unlikely, until the Montenegrin broadcaster confirms its intentions.
