The Netherlands had been chosen to organise the 2007 edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. A specific date and the host city will be decided later on.

The two-hour live television show has become one of the world's biggest international music competitions for children between the ages of 8 and 15. Viewers from all over Europe can vote for their favourite songs by telephone or SMS. The young singers must compose their own songs and perform them in their own national language.

Additional information for parents
The rules of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest include an ethical section to ensure the protection and respect of the rights of child artists. The victorious country also does not have the automatic right to stage the show the following year. Instead, the venue is decided in advance by the event’s Steering Group to avoid putting unnecessary pressure on the junior performers.
