Romanian third-placed sensation of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, Luminita Anghel, is set to record a duet with the Cuban-styled pop star Lou Bega, it has been revealed.
Lou became famous internationally for the smash hit Mambo No. 5, whereas Luminita gained Romania's only top three placing to date with the semifinal-winning smash Let me try in Kyiv. Lou, now based in Germany, is currently working on his new album, which promises "surprising" material. Whether this will include the planned duet with Luminita will be revealed soon.
The collaboration fits in nicely to Luminita's ongoing efforts to forge an international career out of her song contest and home success. Only recently, she was a guest performer for Bucharest's Canadian community as they celebrated the 139th birthday of Canada in style at the Crowne Plaza in the Romanian capital.
As Luminita's focus turns to the market outside Romania, the Bega duet will be a hopeful stepping stone towards chart success beyond home.
