Israel's entrant to the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest, Rita, has established herself as one of Israel's most popular singers ever, not to mention becoming a beloved diva years ago. These days she launches a series of spectacular shows in Tel-Aviv, named One.

Rita burst into the limelight of the Israeli showbiz in 1986, and it happened over night, in that year's Kdam-Eurovision (Israel's national final). She performed Shvil Habricha, dressed in what was considered then an outrageous yellow jacket. She only finished third that night, but that was enough for her, as she never looked back. In 1990 Israeli broadcaster IBA internally selected Rita to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest in Zagreb. Rita and her team chose the song Shara Barechovot to be sung in the contest. At the end of the night Rita was left with 16 points and the 18th position.

Nevertheless, Rita is considered today as Israel's most appreciated female vocalist and certainly one of the most loved performers. These days she launches a series of spectacular shows, staged in Tel-Aviv's Fair Grounds. The series is named One and in it Rita presents the most popular songs out of a 20 yearsrepertoire. Almost 4 million Euros were invested in this line of shows, allowing the use of dozens of dancers, musicians, pyrotechnics and a state of the art stage.

Rita is being interviewed today in the Ma'ariv newspaper, where she talks about the most precious and exciting episodes in her life so far. Besides reflecting on her childhood, her immigration to Israel from Iran as a child and her own children, she talks about the 1990 Eurovision Song Contest. "Those 3 minutes on the Eurovision stage were the culmination ofa project I was not comfortable with from the beginning. I could have gone with a far more catchier song, but back then I felt I had to chose a song I would be able to love with all my heart. Today I guess I can look back and smile, but back then I felt it was a terrible performance. A day after I returned from Zagreb I performed in front a crowd of 6,000 and they all sang the song with me. At that moment I realized I did make the right choice after all. Since then I sing 'Shara Barechovot' in every concert", said Rita to Ma'ariv.
