Finnish Eurovision winners Lordi will be visiting the UK as part of their 2006 tour, as public interest in the band continues following its win in Athens.

The monster rockers will visit the British cities Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and London at the end of October, as part of their wider European tour. As one of the countries to award Finland the douze points this year, the band can expect a warm welcome by British fans.

Unprecedented interest
Lordi recently spoke in an interview on the station BBC Radio Five Live, continuing an unprecedented interest in a Eurovision Song Contest winner in the UK, a country which has tended to resist follow-up success for contest winners in recent years. Again, frontman Mr. Lordi had to refute claims that the band is satanic, something that he is getting used to doing after the group was thrust into the limelight in Athens. However, almost by way of an ironic dig at those misled critics, the single of the winning song Hard rock hallelujah is set for a UK release date of 6/6/06…

"There is a saying in Finland that hell freezes over before Finland wins the Eurovision", said Mr. Lordi in his BBC interview. It seems that hell has finally frozen for Finns, while the hearts of a normally distant UK audience have melted.
