Mr. Lordi, lead singer of the group Lordi who will perform Hard rock hallelujah at the Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, injured his leg during a concert in Hämeenlinna, newspaper Ilta Sanomat reported today.

Fortunately for Finnish fans, his leg injuries were not too serious, and there is no threat to the participation of Hard rock hallelujah in the qualifier round on 18th May. A doctor diagnosed a torn peroneal muscle and knee ligaments, and a good dose of rest has been prescribed before Mr. Lordi embarks on his Athens odyssey.

Kimmo Valtanen of Sony BMG pointed out that there was a back-up plan in case of more serious injury requiring a cast on Mr. Lordi's leg – the singer could have performed in an exploding wheelchair, or with flame-throwing crutches. Whether or not the claim was serious will never be known!
