It's the weekend again, which means a fresh old Eurovision Song Contest is available for you! Under the EuroJoint web alliance, a cooperation between EurovIL, Oikotimes.com and esctoday.com, joined by sub-partners eurosong.be and EurovisionSpain (once known as spain.esctoday.com). It's time to go back to… 1969!

Four countries ended up with an equal number of points. The Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom and France all gained 18 points. Because the rules had no solution for this situation, all countries were declared as winner. There were four medals available (one for the winning singer and three for the winning songwriters) which were given to the four singers. The songwriters of the four winning songs received a medal afterwards. The singer for Monaco was a 12-year old boy. The number of participants was reduced to 16 as Austria didn't want to send a singer to a country ruled by a dictator. The Contest was held at the Madrid Royal Theater and Salvador Dalí designed the sculpture for the stage.

You can find the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest in the multimedia selection of our EuroJoint partner EurovIL. Enjoy the show!
