Albania and the Eurovision Song Contest
Albania picked its 2006 Eurovision Song Contest representative during the Festival i Kenges. During two semifinals with 17 participants each, on 16th and 17th December, the final with 20 contestants took part one day later. Luiz Ejlli won.
Luiz Ejlli
Luiz was born on 12th July, 1985, in Shkodra. In 2004 he took part in Ethet e së premtes mbrëma, the Albanian version of Pop Idol. Last year, he already took part in the Albanian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, but came second after Ledina Çelo. This year's Albanian entry will not be translated into English, and thus it will be the first time the Albanian language can be heard at the contest.
