Texas Lightning, who will represent Germany in Athens, climbed from a 35th to a 9th position in the German single charts with their Eurovision Song Contest entry No no never. After the song was accused to be plagiate of the Danish entry in 2001, this is a surprisingly good position. Their current album Meanwhile, back at the ranch is on 6th place of the album charts.

During the last years, the commercial success of German entries has been like a rollercoaster: Last year, Gracias entry Run and hide reached a 20th place as a peak, although that was before it she chosen as German representative. In 2004, Can't wait until tonight, written by Stefan Raab and sung by Max Mutzke, topped the single charts for three weeks. The two other Stefan Raab songs in the contest, Guildo hat Euch lieb in 1998 and Wadde hadde dudde da? in 2000 both reached a second place. Nevertheless, the German entries in 1999 (Reise nach Jerusalem) and 2003 (Let's get happy), both composed by Ralph Siegel, didn't manage to enter the charts at all.

Texas Lightning will represent Germany in the Eurovision Song Contest final in Athens on 20th May.
