Romanian broadcaster TVR has published the names of the 24 Romanian artists that will compete in two semifinals later this month. There are familiar names in the line-up, including the group that performed with Luminita Anghel at last year's contest.

Returning fresh from 2005 success are the band that performed with Luminita Anghel in Kyiv, Sistem. Linda Valori, who is of Romanian descent, and also achieved third place at the 2004 Sanremo festival, is a former winner of the famous Golden Stag song festival held in Romania.
Romania's semifinals are due to be held on 24th and 25th February, with 12 songs competing in the grand final on 26th February. The winner will automatically qualify for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, due to the third place that Romania achieved in Kyiv in 2005.
