The fourth and last semifinal in Finland�s selection scheme for 2006; Eurovision Laulukilpailu is over. This evening the television viewers chose the following songs for the final: Enkeli itkee , sung by Marita Taavitsainen, (pictured), Pala taivasta sung by Katariina Hänninen and I can�t wait by group Safe Six.

Besides the competing acts, Finnish Eurovision stars from the past have visited all the semifinals in order to celebrate Finland's 40 years of participation at the Eurovision Song Contest. This week we can say that it was a emphasis on �Finnish Eurovision legends�. First, Jarkko & Laura appeared and sang their Eurovision Song Contest entry from 1969 Kuin silloin ennen. And then under constant shouting from the audience, no less than the one and only � Mr. Riki Sorsa entered the stage and sang his beloved Eurovision Song Contest entry from 1981 – Reggae O.K..

And the result�

The song by each artist with the higher number of televotes and SMS votes from the Finnish television viewers qualifies for the final. This week it was very close in the outcome between the participating songs.

This is the voting numbers in the forth semifinal of Eurovision Laulukilpailu 2006:

Marita Taavitsainen:
� Enkeli itkee – 54 %
� Antaudun – 46%

Katariina Hänninen:
� Pala taivasta -55%.
� Liian aikaisin– 45%

Safe Six
� I can�t wait – 55% .
� Livin' it up– 45%

Safe Six more or less stole the show tonight, but in two different ways. Their first entry Livin' it up was an up-tempo song designed as a classical musical number with dancing and singing and constant moving around the stage. However Safe Six�s winning song I can�t wait and its stage show was the opposite. A strong ballad, and more of a solo artist�s act, with Gary Revel jr singing and the other group members in Safe Six slowly entering the stage only in the second part of the song as backing vocalists.
