Recently some rumours concerning the way the Portuguese Broadcaster RTP is going to select its representative for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest were published. Among all these rumours, only one thing was true: RTP is going to organise a national final.
According to the RTP's producer Nuno Figueira, RTP is going to organise a national final in the beginning of March.
However, to avoid misunderstadings, Figueira gave no further confirmations concerning other matters such as hosts, performers, titles of the songs, composers, authors, etcetera.
To give information about all those issues, RTP is going to hold a press conference, probably next week, in which the plans for the 2006 season concerning the national and european song contest will be revealed.
Because 2B came 17th with 51 points in Kyiv, Portugal has to enter the semifinal of the 51st Eurovision Song Contest.
