Spanish broadcaster TVE received about 200 songs for its 2006 Eurovision Song Contest selection. Among them are Azucar moreno, who took part in the 1990 contest, and Mikel Herzog, present at the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest.
Las Supremas de Mostoles, national selection contestants last year, and Alazán, taking part in the 2000 national selection in Spain, also submitted songs for the Spanish national selection for the 51st Eurovision Song Contest.
It's unknown yet how TVE will select its upcoming Eurovision Song Contest entry. Although a national selection, like last year, is a likely option, an internal selection has not been ruled out entirely. Announcements about the selection method are expected to be made soon.
