'No no never' is the title of country band Texas Lightning's entry to this year's German national final, according to music portal Letmeentertainyou.de. Texas Lightning will have to compete against former Modern Talking singer Thomas Anders ('Songs that live forever') and song contest veteran Vicky Leandros (song title not revealed yet) in Hamburg on 9 March 2006.

Texas Lightning comprises TV comedians Olli Dittrich and Jon Flemming ('Dittsche'), professional musicians Markus Schmidt and Uwe Frenzel and Australian born female singer Jane Comerford. Their 2005 debut album 'Meanwhile, Back At The Ranch ' contains funny country style remakes of pop classics like 'Dancing Queen' or 'Like A Virgin' (you can listen to sound samples of some songs on Texas Lightning's website). Which gives the band some parallels to last year's Austrian representatives Global.Kryner, who also rose to fame with unique dancable folk versions of pop classics.

Lead singer Jane Comerford wrote Texas Lightning's Eurovision entry 'No No Never', which is described as a “tongue-in-cheek, catchy country pop tune”.

With only three songs in the final, there will be no CD album like in previous years. All three songs, including the still unknown entry of Vicky Leandros, will be introduced at a press conference mid February, according to NDR's Jan Schulze-Kellinghaus.

This year's German national final takes place on 9 March 2006 at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg as part of a gala celebrating 50 years of Eurovision Song Contest. Each of the three contestants is not only going to sing his entry, but also two Eurovision classics. TV comedian Thomas Hermanns will host the festive evening. Germany's representative for Athens will be decided by 100% televoting.
