The Romanian selection for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest takes place on 26th February, 12 songs will compete. In two semifinals, scheduled to take place on 24th and 25th February, 24 songs will take part (12 in each semifinal). The best six of each semifinal proceed to the final.

The winner will be chosen by a jury, made up by people from the record industry, composers, song writers and other professionals, and the televoters (50/50).

Romania's 2006 national selection will be streamed over the web through TVRi.
