More news from Greece today. Giorgos Capountzides and Zeta Makripoulia have been asked to host the Greek national selection for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. A national song selection for an internally chosen participant has been scheduled for next month, although the exact date is yet unknown.
Meanwhile, various media in Greece reported that ERT will announce its 2006 representative next week Thursday. Although ERT considers “several participants”, several sources still claim that Anna Vissi is the most likely candidate.
Capountzides and Makripoulia will also provide the Greek commentary for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest semifinal and final. This would also imply that ERT's cooperation with Alexandra Pascalidou, last year's national selection host and commentator, ended.
Giorgos Capountizdes is a very famous greek writer and actor. Zeta Makrupoulia used to be a model and now continues her career in theatre and TV. They are both acting in the TV show Sto parapente.
