Swedish singer Östen Warnerbring (71) died. During many years, he played a prominent role in Melodifestivalen, the Swedish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Warnenbring competed in 1959, 1960, 1962, 1967, 1968, 1972 and, for the last time, in 1974. In total, he sang 11 different songs on the Melodifestivalen-stage. In 1967 he won the festival with Som en dröm (Like a dream), which came 8th at the Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria.
Östen Warnerbring died Wednesday on the Canary Islands, Spain, where he planned to give a couple of concerts.
