Ex Steps star Lisa Scott-Lee is hoping to represent the United Kingdom at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. Several UK media reported that over the past week.
The singer was recently forced to give up her solo career after agreeing with MTV to do so when her latest single failed to get into the top ten. Now Scott-Lee views the contest as a way of re-igniting her career. “People may laugh but some acts have had a lot of success after being in the contest”, she said.
It would be the third consecutive year that a member of the Scott-Lee family has attempted to represent the UK. In 2004, the band Hyrise which included one of the Scott Lee brothers came second to James Fox and last year Andy Scott-Lee finished third behind Javine and Katie Price.
Last year, Javine Hylton represented the United Kingdom. She failed to turn around the country's poor performance in recent years.
