The official and final list of participating countries for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest will be revealed mid-January. Until 23rd December, broadcaster could withdraw without financial penalty.
The provisional list of participants for next year's Eurovision Song Contest contains 38 participants. Hungary and Austria withdrew, while Armenia joined the family.

Broadcasters withdrawing after 23rd December will not get their financial contribution back. For the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, Lebanon withdrew after the EBU deadline.
