Cypriot national broadcaster CyBC is said to have received a record of submitted song entries for the 2006 national selection. 101 songs so far reached the offices of CyBC. Media named several artists to have submitted one or more songs. However, none of the claims have been officially confirmed yet.
Among those who submitted songs are said to be Helena Patrokolou (Cyprus 1991), former ONE member Dimos Beke (Cyprus 1993, 2002) and Lisa Andreas (Cyprus 2004).
Two semifinals with 12 songs each will take place according Cypriot media. The actual final, preliminairy scheduled for 22nd February, is said to contain 12 songs.
CyBC officials have been asked to comment the story.
UPDATE: According to Mr. Klitos Klitou of CyBC no decision has been taken yet. An official announcement of the Cypriot selection for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest will be made on 4th January.
