Norwegian broadcaster (NRK) announced the first semifinalists in the Norwegian selection already today. As esctoday.com could reveal earlier, Geir Rönning is one of the participants. The first semifinal of the Norwegian selection Melodi Grand Prix 2006 will take place on 13th January in the village of Alta.

These are the seven participants in the first heat:

1. Geir Rönning & Jorun Erdal – Lost and found
2. Trine Rein – Here for the show
3. Christina Undhjem – My dream
4. Kirsti Carr – Debt
5. Mocci Ryen – Tonight
6. Arlene Wilkes – Sunshine

Each semifinal consists of six entries. Geir Rönning represented Finland in this years Eurovision Song Contest with the song Why. Familiar with the Melodi Grand Prix are also Jorun Erdal (2005), Moccy Ryen (2001) and Arlene Wilkes (2004).
