Countdown: behind the scenes!

A few minutes before the first dress rehearsal with a full arena, esctoday.com got the unique chance to have a quick look back stage, while the 16 participants do their last-minute preparations before they have to go to the arena. Backstage, we also met Maria Isabel, who won last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest representing Spain. She will perform during the interval act of the show.

While Malin and her dancers (Norway) get a last peptalk, while the rock kids from Latvia are running around and while television crew is running around to get the last things done for the critical dress rehearsal, we had a one-minute meeting with last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest winner Maria Isabel. In the Spanish dress room she did some last-minute preparations for her interval act performance and took a minute for a quick hello to the esctoday.com visitors!

While the hall is filling with audience, journalists get offered a free meal from the board of the Ethias Arena. As the show's coming closer, most journalists enter the hall to see the show live.

Asking a happy programme manager Steve Deconinck-De Boeck (VRT) about the latest preparations, he managed to discribe his feeling in one word: “excited!”
