Two Russian broadcasters, Channel One and Channel Russia, are going to join forces when it comes to the selection of Eurovision Song Contest participants. Channel One will take care of the 2006 selection, while Channel Russia (RTR) will select the 2007 representative.
This year, Channel Russia takes care of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest participant. It's unknown if both Russian channels will also 'share' the junior contest. Channel One has never shown any interest in the event so far.
The two broadcasters were previously both involved with Russian Eurovision Song Contest participation in the mid 1990s.
The selection method for the Russian 2006 Eurovision Song Contest entry is expected to be announced in the upcoming months.
