The song
This year’s Slovenian entry is an electronic up tempo song. The lyrics are highly metaphoric as the main theme is crazy love.
Faster than light, here comes the night
Tomorrow is now
You flow through my veins
Inside me you’ll stay
There is no doubt
No one in this world, no diamonds no pearls
Like your love divine
So high off the ground, we’ll never come down
No limit, no sky
Straight into love
We’ll break through the dawn
And light the world up from the sky when we collide
Straight into love
And never let go
We’ll light the world up from the sky into the night

Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest
Slovenia entered the Eurovision Song Contest as an independent country in 1993, when they had hosted and won the semi-final in Eastern Europe. Since then the country has finished in the top ten only three times in a final including their best result – two seventh places – in 1995 and 2001. 2007 & 2011 were the only times Slovenia managed to qualify from the semi-final under the current format. Under the flag of Yugoslavia, songs from Slovenia took part in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 (which was the debut of Yugoslavia), 1962, 1966, 1967, 1970 and 1975.
Statistics
This will be Slovenia’s 19th participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. For the eleventh time the country is represented by a female solo performer. Furthermore, it will be the sixth time that the song is performed entirely in English. Last Slovenian entry performed in English was in 2011 when Maja Keuc sang No one.
