Glennis Grace, who represented the Netherlands in Kyiv with My impossible dream, is pregnant. Her management confirmed this to esctoday.com. As nature planned 'Amazing Grace' to give birth to a child in May, she will not be able to go for 'revenge' in Athens.
After her disappointing result in Kyiv, where she didn't manage to qualify for the final, she initially refused to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest once more. After a few weeks, Grace and her management became eager to qualify for the 51st Eurovision Song Contest to take 'revenge'. Now she's pregnant, she will not be able to qualify and participate at all. Rumours said Glennis was eager to represent Belgium or Switzerland.
Glennis is pregnant for about a month now. She was eager to keep it secret for a few more months, but “someone leaked it to the press”, she said during the Sunday evening show Life & Cooking.
During the same show, Idols jury head Henkjan Smits said that Glennis Grace is a “brilliant singer and a lovely woman”, but that she “clearly misses the x-factor”. A remarkable comment, as the same Henkjan Smits was one of the writers of Simply in love, which ended 6th (out of 8) at the Nationaal Songfestival 2001.
We wish Glennis Grace all the best with her pregnancy!
