Aged 57, Roberto Uranga, one of the original members of Mocedades, passed away last Thursday, suffering from cancer. Mocedades started with eight members and the group's members changed over time. Mocedades represented Spain at the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest with Eres tú, which ended second.

The first two albums were recorded by the original eight members; three Uranga sisters and a brother (Amaya, Estíbaliz, Izaskum, and Roberto), the Blanco brothers (Rafaél and Sergio), José Ipiña, and Francisco Panera.

At the end of 1970, José Ipiña and Francisco Panera left the group and Javier Garay joined. In 1972 Estíbaliz Uranga, Sergio Blanco, and Rafaél Blanco left Mocedades, while José Ipiña returned and Carlos Zubiaga joined. In this configuration, Amaya, Carlos, Izaskum, Javier, José, and Roberto recorded the group's biggest hits.

Whether this sad event will prevent Mocedades flying to Copenhagen and attend the anniversary show Congratulations next week is unknown.
