Polish broadcaster TVP will organise a national selection to determine who will represent the country at the 51st Eurovision Song Contest. In Piosenka dla Europy, which will most likely take place on 28th January, the Polish participant for Athens will be selected.

OGAE Poland worked out the rules, which have been accepted by TVP's Entertainment Department. The final will most likely contain 15 songs, four of the participants will enter the show with a wildcard. The other 11 songs will be selected through an open selection. Songs from abroad are welcome, a deadline for submission is yet unknown.

The winner of Piosenka dla Europy, which means Song for Europe, will be selected by a jury and televoters (50/50).

Last year, Ivan & Delfin ended 11th with Czarna dziewczyna, only a few points away from the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest final. Therefore, Poland has to go through the semifinal of next year's Eurovision Song Contest.
