For the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest, the Flemish part of Belgium will deliver the Belgian representative, again following the popular selection format Eurosong. After the submission passed this Wednesday, the first names of entrants are being revealed. The names of the selected participants will be revealed by VRT later this year.
The first remarkable name that came out was the name of Rafael Artesero, the composer of this year's Andorran entry La mirada interior. Artesero also composed for the 2003 edition of the Spanish national selection format Operaçión Triunfo.
The musical duo Andermay, Jesús Maria Pérez (Ander) and Amaya Martínez (May), who wrote the Spanish 2003 entry Dime for Beth, also entered a song for Eurosong 2006. In 2003, the duo ended 8th and they won the annual Marcel Bezençon Award, a prize given by journalists, for the best entry. In the Belgian selection, Andermay will compete with an English-Spanish song titled Come back, my heart (Vuelve a mi vida).
Christopher, who participated in the 2002 semifinals of Eurosong as a member of the group Mistery, will give it another try with the song Forever. Last time, he ended up 7th (last) in the semifinal with the song Hollywood star. Nevertheless, the song became a top-10 hit in Flanders!
