Although Serbia & Montenegro's participation at the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest was already confirmed by the preliminary list of Hasselt's city administration, broadcaster RTS now reveals its participation officially. A national selection had been scheduled for 29th September.

On 29th September, RTS will select the first ever Junior Eurovision Song Contest entry of Serbia & Montenegro. The national selection takes place in a studio, a maximum of 16 songs will be selected and an estimated 10 to 12 songs will be from Serbia. Additional songs will come from Montenegro.

Dragan Ilic of broadcaster RTS expects the winner to be chosen by 8 jury members and an additional 9th vote on behalf of the televoter.

As today's calendar shows 7th September, it's unknown how RTS will manage to find ánd produce approximately 16 songs for a junior selection in less than three weeks.

The 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Hasselt, Belgium, on 26th November. Due to an unforseen late interest of broadcasters, the announcement of the official participants' list has been postponed until later this month. Lithuania and Ukraine are, so far, the other two countries joining the contest.
