Tonight, the first Eurokids semifinal takes place. In an unusual jointly show of the Flemish broadcaster VRT and the Walloon broadcaster RTBF, three Flemish and three Walloon kids will compete for a place in the final, where the best three Flemish and best three Walloon songs will compete again.

Voting
Four juries (the professionals, the radio jury, a youth jury and the televoters) decide. The professionals are Mélanie Cohl, who represented Belgium at the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest, VRT commentator André Vermeulen, former Eurosong jury member Marcel Vanthilt and singer/actress Viktor Lazlo, who hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 1987.

Interval act
Gene Thomas will perform as interval act on Flemish VRT. Meanwhile, the Walloon RTBF will broadcast commercials.
