Swedish broadcaster (SVT) has now announced the date for their national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Lilla Melodifestivalen will be held on Friday 7th October.

Usually SVT decides dates for their national selections long in advance but for several reasons SVT remained undecided quite long this year. It was expected that Lilla Melodifestivalen was to take place on a Saturday, either the 1st or 8th October. For several reasons SVT have now chosen to broadcast Lilla Melodifestivalen on Friday 7th October.

The list of participants in Lilla Melodifestivalen was already finalised in June but has been kept secret. The ten songs chosen for competition and the artists performing them will be announced during a press conference that takes place on 7th September, SVT also told today.

Lilla Melodifestivalen will as esctoday.com earlier reported be hosted by Shan Atci and Nanne Grönvall. Swedish television viewers will as usual be able to decide the winner by televoting.

Last year, Sweden was represented at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest by group Limelights with Varför jag that finished 15th. Who the representative will be for Sweden at the 2005 Junior Eurovision Song Contest from Hasselt, Belgium, we will know on 7th October.
