'Bubu cannot participate in Romanian junior selection'

Bubu, lead singer of the group Rockkids and one of the participants in this year's Romanian national Junior Eurovision Song Contest selection with the song Ce sa fac?, might be not allowed to perform in Hasselt, according to the rules of the EBU.

The official EBU rules of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest say that the children taking part must never have performed a solo, lead role or supporting role on a professionally produced CD or been professionally represented in any before the national selection. As former Romanian representant (2003), he has on the one hand been professionally represented in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest and on the other hand, he has performed a solo role on a professionally produced CD, namely the compilation CD of the 2003 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which seems to make an appearance in Hasselt impossible.

The EBU hasn't commented on the story yet. We asked song contest supervisor Svante Stockselius for a reaction.

Bubu finished 10th in the Junior Eurovision Song 2003 representing Romania with the song Tobele sunt viata mea.
