Fly on the wings of love has been chosen by internet voters to feature in the 50th anniversary show Congratulations. Søren Therkelsen, Commissioning Editor of the anniversary programme at the Danish broadcaster DR, said that in an exclusive interview with esctoday.com. The complete interview will be published in parts next week, to give you a step-by-step look inside the organization of the show.

Procedure
10 songs have been chosen by viewers from all over Europe through eurovision.tv, the official Eurovision Song Contest website. This nomination process on the site was launched during the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv and lasted for several weeks. The contest's Reference Group gave out 4 wildcards for the all-time winners' contest on 22nd October.

“The Reference Group of the Eurovision Song Contest is an official authority, working under the EBU, of which the members are democratically elected among all the members of the Eurovision Broadcasting Union. The selection of the 14 songs is a result of a very democratic process”, Therkelsen said. “And to remove all doubt, the nomination of the Olsen Brothers' song was a result of the online nomination process – they didn't get a wild card from the EBU as 'present' to the host broadcaster of the event”, he added.

Besides deciding on the all-time most popular Eurovision Song Contest song, the show will contain “walks down the memory lane”, in which the show digs deep into the archives of the contest to expose a lot of memorable moments from the “golden archives of the Eurovision Song Contest”.
