Esther Hart, Laura Vlasblom, Bert Heerink and Linda Carminita have one thing in common; they all participated in the Eurovision Song Contest or the Dutch national selection. Together with singer Erica Yong and guitarist Jan Akkerman they will now focus on Queen in concert.
Together with the Royal Airforce Orchestra, these singers will tour the Netherlands to pay a tribute to one of the most successful bands in history; Queen. Their first concerts are planned for January 2006.
Esther Hart represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 with One more night and has served as a jury member in the past edition of the Nationaal Songfestival. Laura Vlasblom was a member of both Frizzle Sizzle (1986 Eurovision Song Contest with Alles heeft ritme) and Airforce (runners-up of this year's Dutch national selection with How does it feel). Bert Heerink ended third in the final of the 2003 Nationaal Songfestival with Blue skies are for free. And finally, Linda Carminita was part of the group Mrs. Einstein, which represented the Netherlands at the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest with Niemand heeft nog tijd.
Earlier this year, the Royal Airforce Orchestra paid a tribute to the Eurovision Song Contest, in a show featuring Johnny Logan and Laura Vlasblom.
