Following the non selection of some of the founding countries of the Eurovision Song Contest for the special 50th anniversary contest and the news that no single Dutch artist has been invited to perform in Congratulations, esctoday.com asked the Danish broadcaster, the producer of the show, for a reaction.

Danish broadcaster DR regrets that many fans are feeling disappointed. “However we are still working on putting together the show and as you probably know, shows like these are developing in stages. Whenever one part of the puzzle finds its place, other parts are needed,” Mr. Christensen, producer of the show, explains esctoday.com.

Following Dutch broadcaster TROS' statement that no Dutch artists will be present in Copenhagen, the Dutch Eurovision Song Contest fans started outing their disappointment. Under the impression that the Flemish Belgian artists' fate is sealed the same way, the whole Dutch language union, good for 70 Eurovision Song Contest entries, would be ignored.

I am quite sure that all of the countries having taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest will be represented one way or the other in the show,” says DR. “In a month time, we shall know the exact parts for sure and hopefully the Netherlands and Flanders will no longer be disappointed.

The 50th annivesary show Congratulations takes place at the Forum in Copenhagen on 22nd October.
