The Maltasong Board today announced the rules and regulations of Malta Junior Song for Europe 2005. The Maltese Junior Eurovision Song Contest selections will take place on 24th September. The sixteen finalists will be announced on 12th August.

Songs for Malta Junior Song for Europe 2005, in English or Maltese, can be submitted until 3rd August. The selection of the songs will take place in a number of phases, depending on the amount of songs submitted. All judging phases will be communicated to UKAM who shall be invited to send a representative to be present during the judging phases.

Sixteen compositions shall make it to the final in which they will be judged either by a jury appointed by the Maltasong Board or by televoting, or both, or in any other manner as decided by the Maltasong Board. The finalists will not be allowed to make publicity or promotional material.

The sixteen finalists will be announced on 12th August. Malta Junior Song for Europe 2005 takes place on 24th September. The winner will succeed Young Talent Team, who finished 12th for Malta at last year's Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Power of a song.
