Estonian tabloid SLÕhtuleht writes that Rebecca Kontus has left Estonian girlband Suntribe to start a solo career and even make a breakthrough in the USA.

Rebecca said that she went to Estonian preselection with a solo song and it was not planned to get famous with Suntribe and then start a solo project later.

We had a deal with (the manager of the band) Sven Lõhmus already before the Eurovision Song Contest that Suntribe is only a Eurovision project“, Rebecca explained.

She claims that leaving the band has nothing to do with the low result in the semifinal in Kyiv. She also denies the rumours that she and the other members had quarrels, and that is the reason for her leaving the band.

A few weeks ago Rebecca finished a new single. The singer writes her own songs, but admits the good advice from the professionals is always welcome.

The manager Sten-Erik Jantson reveals that in autumn Rebecca wants to give a try in the USA.

We are going to New York at the end of August, or in the beginning of September, where the producers from Broadway and Los Angeles are waiting for us. Jürgen Kaljuvee is organising concerts for Rebecca in New York. At the moment he is searching producers for her, to produce her first album“, the manager said.
