TVE, the Spanish national broadcaster has informed esctoday.com that it will be holding a special press conference today at 13:00 CET in order to officially present the 2013 Spanish Eurovision entry Contigo Hasta el final along with  the  2013 Spanish representatives to the media.

The press conference will be held at 13.00 CET at the Torrespaña TVE Headquarters in Madrid. Mr. Federico Llano (Subdirector of TVE Festivals Dept and Head of Delegation of Spanish delegation) will be attending the press conference along with Mr. Carlos Mochales (Director of TVE Entertainment Programmes Department). The 2013 Spanish representatives El Sueño De Morfeo will be sharing their thoughts and feelings about their song selection last night, where their song Contigo hasta el final was selected to represent Spain in Malmo next May.

TVE and El Sueño de Morfeo will be revealing further details regarding the 2013 Spanish participation at the Eurovision Song Contest during thei press conference.

The Spanish Eurovision show was hosted by Carolina Ferre. A total of 3 songs competed for the golden ticket to Malmö (Contigo hasta el final, Dame tu voz’and Atrévete). The entry was selected via a 50/50 jury – televoting deliberation. The jury  consisted of Rosa Lopez (Spain 2002), Jose Maria Iñigo (Spanish ESC commentator 2011,2012) and the 2013 Italian representative Marco Mengoni. Last year’s Spanish Eurovision representative Pastora Soler will also graced the occasion and performed her Eurovision entry Quedate conmigo.

El Sueño de Morfeo treated  their fans with special duets with celebrated famous singers: Alex Ubago, Pastora Soler (Spain 2012), Musicalite and Nek.

 

Spain debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961 and has won the event twice in 1968 with Massiel and in 1969 withSalome. The Spaniards have been runner up in the contest a total of 4 times in 1971, 1973 1979 and in 1995.
