TRT International broadcasted the previews on television Friday evening. 23 video clips supplied by the EBU were broadcasted in the official order. Some countries used the national final performance to send in as video clip, others made a professional video, such as France and Iceland.
The Netherlands used the shots from the national final in Rotterdam. Iceland made a very smoothly clip with a lot of metallic in it. Nice girls, by the way ! Bosnia used the yellow man from the national final and – again – paintings, just like Romania did last year with “The moon” from Taxi. Norway also used the national final images. Israel went to the beach and made a very yellow coulored video, but nice ! Russia and Sweden made a video and Lithuania”s Skamp was broadcasted from the national final.
Latvia made a great video clip, where Arnis tried to make a video in. In the clip, everything went wrong. Croatia submitted the national final shots with a pregnant Vanna and Portugal did the same, also the two gentlemen where (of course) not pregnant. Many people change their mind about Portugal when they see their show.
Ireland provided us from the annual national final shots and brought us a nice shot from the photographers back ! However the song was performed great, the video could be better. Spain made a very Ricky-Martin-like video with girls dancing in the streets of Sevilla. France, named as a winner, made a very romantic clip with many horses in it.
Turkey showed us a guide tour trough Istanbul and showed us the buildings and the famous bridge. They did forgot the song…
The UK provided us from national final shots. “What a shame, how cheap”, according to one of the fans. We expect Lindsay D. to practice and she will enter stage on May 12 with a great performance ! Slovenia had a very cool video, especially when the piano explodes !!! Poland made a nice clip, which you have to see before we can teel you anything about it or you wouldn”t understand.
Germany…ow no ! “Donald Duck is participating”, fans all over Europe are calling, even in Germany itself ! We hope she”ll pracitice…Estonia had a very relaxed clip with the four dancers of 2XL. Very human-like and spontanious ! Malta was a mix of Israel-on-the-beach and Spain-goes-to-town. Greece had no video, but the shots from the national show and our host country had a funny video. Rollo, King and the lady had their deadline for the English text and in the video, they have to do everything they can to make that deadline ! Watch the previews online to see if they did !
