Apart from Stepan (photo) playing on the Kobza and the promogirls serving vareniki (a tradition Ukrainian bakery), the second Ukrainian press conference didn't bring anything new. Nevertheless, it was an entertaining moment with the GreenJolly guys again.
The rehearsal of GreenJolly, the drummer, the keyboard player and the two dancers went without problems. Two of the dancers are wearing handcuffs during the first part of the song and break free after a while, as a metaphoric reference to the freedom after revolution.
During the press conference, Stepan joined to play on the traditional Kobza instrument. The Kobzars were, in bygone days, people who told stories and legends about the brave Ukrainian Kozaks. The Moldovan participants took 'grandma' with them, the Ukrainians are hitting back by bringing 'grandpa' to the Eurovision Song Contest. “This man has been living on an island for 20 years, all alone”, GreenJolly said.
Earlier this week, esctoday.com had an interview with the three GreenJolly singers. You can read the interview in our specials section.
