After a marathon of auditions all over the country, the special jury appointed by TVR have announced the thrirty two songs which will compete in the two semi finals scheduled for 23 and 24 February.
Sixteen songs will be competing in each of the two semi finals of the Romanian preselection for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. The six most voted for by the special jury and the televoters – both weighing 50% of the final voter- will proceed to the Grand Final on 9 March. Among the shortlisted performers are previous Eurostars such as Luminita Anghel(Romania 2005) and Natalia Barbu (Moldova 2007), local mega star Elena Cîrstea and X factor winners Tudor Turcu and Andrei Leonte. Among the newcomers there is a familiar name to music lovers around the world, Renee Santana, niece of the legendary Carlos Santana will be trying her luck to represent Romania in Malmö.
The songs will be available to listen to online on Monday 18 February.
