One of the funniest moments at this year's Eurovision Song Contest just happened during the press conference of Ireland. The Irish dancers were asked to perform some Riverdance steps, and that's what they did… however, not without consequences. See the video in our video report section on esctoday.com's frontpage!

The press conference from the Irish team was mainly geared around the fact why Ireland is not doing so well at the Eurovision Song Contest. It was noted that the songwriter of the Irish act is a huge fan of the Eurovision Song Contest himself and so he thought of writing a song which has the elements of making the song sound and look big on stage.

As per tradition, Donna & Joe sang some other Irish songs during the press conference, including the Celtic Irish ballad in Gaelic, Síul. They also announced that Love? has reached number two in the Irish single charts, soon after it was released as a cd-single.

At the end of the press conference, the Irish girls accompanying Donna & Joe on stage were asked to dance for the journalists and that's where it went wrong. The girls were doing their Irish dance when all of a sudden the table broke down and the dancers hit the ground. No one got injured and the table was already fixed 10 minutes later.

The Irish performance is set against a red, white and black background. Donna and Joe will be accomanied by 4 female dancers. All six are on stage dancing and singing together in true Riverdance style.

The head of the Irish Delegation opened the Press conference by thanking NTU for the wonderful work they have done on the image of the song. He said that the Eurovision Song Contest is all about the way the songs are presented for televiewers and televoters. “The Irish performance is looking great on television and we're so satisfied about it,” remarked RTE's representative.

It was also confirmed that Dana, the winner of the 1970 Eurovision Song Contest with All Kinds of Everything, will read the votes for Ireland this year. “Yes, she's the same one…but looks a bit older now!” the Head of the Irish delegation joked.

Right after the Press Conference, Esctoday.com had another exclusive interview with Donna & Joe. They stated to be aware that Hungary is bringing a dance similar to the Riverdance on stage but this doesn't worry them. “People will understand immediately that it belongs to us because it is an irish dance!” Donna said.

Donna & Joe are feeling the pressure from the Irish people to see them qualify for the final round but they are confident that we will see them on stage this Saturday!
