Icelandic representative Selma Björnsdóttir has been appointed ambassador for a new SOS-Children Village in Ukraine. Selma will be supporting the project that gets financial support from Iceland.

Not far away from the glamour of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, many people are living their lifes in poor conditions. Because of social matters, thousands of children have been placed into institutions or just on the street. A new SOS-Children Village to be built in Ukraine should provide children a secure home for their future.

This year's Icelandic Eurovision Song Contest representative Selma Björnsdóttir has accepted to be ambassador of a new SOS-Children Village in Ukraine, a project partly to be financed with Icelandic money. “I'm more than glad to participate in this project and becoming an ambassador for SOS-Children Villages,” said Selma. “I hope it will do good.

SOS-Children Villages is extremely happy with the engagement of Selma and said that it is very important for their organisation that people like Selma are willing to support their important task.
