The duo Donna & Joe won the talent show You're A Star created by Irish broadcaster RTÉ especially for the Eurovision Song Contest. With the song Love?, Donna & Joe will be representing Ireland at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. They will be taking part in the semifinal to be held on 19th May in the Palats Sportu in Kyiv. In cooperation with RTÉ esctoday.com had an interview with this year's Irish representatives.

Donna and Joe, you won You're A Star. Congratulations! Did you expect it and how did you react?

It took a while to sink in but we are still over the moon about it.

Why did you get involved with the Irish selection process You're A Star?

We had both done a lot of competitions in singing, like Community Games and other teenage singing competitions, and so it was a natural progression for us.

Is You're A Star a big event in Ireland?

It is huge, this was its third year and the public go mad for it, cos they can vote each week for a winner. It is like the Irish version of Pop Idol.
