As esctoday.com reported yesterday, both France 3 and France 4 were in the running for broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest semifinal in France. The latter now confirmed to our colleagues of eurovision-fr.net that the semifinal will be broadcast on their brand new channel France 4.
Following our article regarding last year's refusing countries that will be broadcasting this year's Eurovision Song Contest semifinal, eurovision-fr.net contacted France 4. The French television channel confirmed that they will be broadcasting the semifinal of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest on 19th May.
France 4 is a brand new channel, launched on 31st March 2005. France 4 is mainly focusing on musical and cultural events. The new digital channel however isn't widely available yet via the cable network. Many French spectators will thus have to look out for an other foreign channel broadcasting the semifinal in order to be able to watch.
Unlike the semifinal, the final will still be broadcast on France 3, on which it has been aired since 1999. The French commentary will be given by Julien Lepers and Guy Carlier.
